1996 – the beginning
the soon-to-be founders of chameleon like Pierre Martichoux and Daniel Busatto, work together at PRAT, a French Designer and Manufacturer of Artist Portfolios and Sketchbooks.
1998 - the establishment
chameleon books & journals, inc is incorporated in Gilroy, CA. While other suppliers are offshoring production to Mexico and the Far East, chameleon books & journals, inc was founded with the belief that the soul of a product and the company is in its manufacturing and commits to making its products in the USA.
2000 – getting noticed
chameleon books & journals, inc gets noticed in the corporate market thanks to its innovative, fashion-forward products, soon picked up by companies like Apple, Oracle, and GAP.
2004 – the expansion
chameleon books & journals, inc, again doubles its facility to accommodate more “in-house” manufacturing from 6,000 to 12,000 sq. feet.
2008 - against the trend
when the financial crisis hits, everyone advises marketing low-priced/low-value items. chameleon like does just the opposite and continues to launch high-quality products and recycled products!
2018 – the acquisition
chameleon like acquires The Platform Gallery Group, a packaging manufacturer located in Houston, TX, and rebrands it as PACKED by chameleon like.
2019 – aiming at being better
chameleon starts its journey to becoming B-Corp certified.
